My youngest child has entered the world of pierced ears. She went to her Grandparent's house a few days ago, and came back with some cash, so she wanted to pay to get her ears pierced. So alright there you go. She was okay during the process, but looked a little shocked after. Kinda a blank face. I have to go now and watch her clean and turn the earrings...she wants me to make sure she does it right. :) I'm sure she will.

My daughter got hers done a few months ago. I got my second hole...first..it seemed to make it easier. Still..she had the same shocked look on her face! :)
At least she didn't faint.
We told you-know-who that she could get her done when she turned 13. I don't think she's interested anymore, though.
The joys of being a mom to a girl. I only have a boy so I will never have the thrill of seeing him get his ears pierced. Well, wait a second...maybe...oh dear.
My daughter used to want pierced ears when she was three and four and then she got her four year old shots and decided she wanted nothing to do with needles ever again. Some of her friends are beginning to get their ears pierced so she may let go of her anxiety at ask some time. We will think about it then.
When I was about 10 I had my ears pierced against my will by my first step-father with a needle (think fire from the stove and ice). I was terrified, but in this situation I was also afraid to say no. After he left our home I eventually let them close up and left them that way until before I got married. Rick wanted me to wear pearl ear rings for the wedding, so I got them pierced by choice (for him) several months before the wedding. I'm not a big jewlry person and I ended up letting them close when my kids were curious babies and liked pulling on things (I like to avoid pain if possible).
I always feel kind of sad when I see babies with pierced ears. Whaa! Those who advocate acupuncture say that piercing ears can alter those trigger points, or whatever they call them. Don't know.........
I guess it can be part of growing up. Jen got hers done about 5th or 6th grade. I got mine done in my 20s.
